This build was started about 4yrs ago...(imagine that ) The main reason it didn't get finshed is that I couldn't find the yellow body paint I was using. I only had one can and used it up. It covered the build but...as the build went on..touch up was needed badly and I had no paint. I finally found an online store in Jersey that had the paint. I can now get back to this build.
This started out as a Multi media kit from GMP. They are very had to find now. The build to this point is about 7/8 finished. I need to fix a few items like the wing end plate. I'm going to re-paint the Rollcage and body bars a different color. All of the suspension bars have been rebuilt using stainless steel tubing and RB Motion Heim joints. The rollcage and engine bay bars where fabbed from evergreen rod and sheet. The engine was was reconfigured(intake) to a FORD motor(pretty rare to see, to expensive to run). The wing body was taken from a newer Sprintcar kit and the end plates where fabbed from sheet plastic. Here are a few pics to show the beggining of the build. The seat snaps are made from stainless steel tubing

Here's a few pics of the motor in it's transition stages. The intake was stripped of the chev injection setup and a ford big block was built. The black you see in the new intake is the filler I had to use to plug a hole. (click on pic for Lrg. view) Nose modifications along with filler and primer.. Mocked up with all 4 colors of paint anf new re-fabbed hood. With the wing and other stuff...

Well...here are a few progress pics of this everlasting build.. The body was stripped. I added a new color to the bar work and it didn't look right to me...so into the strip tank it went. Then...I worked on the front nerf bar and noticed that something wasn't lining up correctly. One side of the orange stripe was narrower than the other...so..it's in the strip tank as I type. I did get the NEW Nerf bars made and the radiator/ block fittings finished for the plumbing. I also had to re-fab a wing end plate as the tail end got broke on the right side. All the A/N fittings where also painted and are ready to install. Here are a few pics of the nerf bars

It may take you awhile Gary, but it's always Top Notch LOL...I think that's an Understatement my friend. This build has been going on for a life time...at least it seems that way. I'm back on this one. I will get it finished this time around. I'm in the process of REBUILDING the rear Nerf bars. It seems this area has decided to really give me a hard time. I had to find ALL the paint that I used on it and I finally did. That in it self was a GREAT accomplishment. I'm thinking of a few changes on the Bar colors just to break up some of the yellow. As soon as I get the back Nerf bars re-built and the Chassis and nose re-painted..I'll shoot some update pics.
