Thanks Bruce and DJ....I've got the body re-primed and sanded. It's ready for body color. The Nose needs to have some putty laid down. then it will be ready for the NEW paint. It's getting there...ever so slowly..

Man...can't believe that time has RUN away with me.... Now that the (REEEELY BIG SHOE...Ed Sullivan ;D) is behind us...I can get back to this puppy. I fabbed up the wing supports and had to make a few new brackets for those. The cage was a little Caddy wapus and I think I got it straight now. I had to take EVERYTHING out of the box and re-familiarize myself with this build. It did give me that really cool feeling once all the pieces where layed out and the whole idea flowed back to me. I'll have a few update pics as soon as there is something that's changed enough to shoot pics of. I need to lay some putty down on the nose(again : and I'll try and get that done tonight. Stay turned folks....there's more to come...

Well folks...here are a few pics of the small update. Right now I'm rebuilding a lot of the things that I'd started with in the beginning of the build. I've added a few things also. I fixed the Wing Brackets and built the supports for that. The front nerf bar was taken from the kit and a bar added in the center for support. A wire frame was built for screen on the front nose to keep dirt from the radiator. The nose is being changed (again) to a larger opening for more air flow. The rear Nerf bar needs to be re-built and that should be done tomorrow...thanks for the look-in...(don't forget to click for larger pic)

Thanks Bruce....I'm laying out ALL the pieces that need to be shot with Alclad (have to rebuild the rear nerf bars first) and also getting the nose and body ready for Etching Primer. Then I'll shoot it all with white primer before shooting the body color. I should have an update after this weekend....

OK...the NEW rear Nerf bars are built and ready for the primer. That will be done tomorrow along with all the other new things that have been changed. The old Nerf bar setup was a good one but it took a nose dive and fell apart and wouldn't go back together like I wanted it to the second time around....sooo...I built a new set...(click to enlarge)
The first set...
The NEW set....
Thanks for looking in folks...This should get the paint on the body and Alclad in the next few days...

Hey Brizio...thanks for the compliment...
Well...The chassis and roll cage have been shot semi-gloss red.( change # 4,348.5...and counting... :. The new nose was also shot with the first color(yellow) and will be taped off and shot with the next two colors today, metallic red and orange. The wing was also shot with the Alclad Black...left set over night...and then shot with a clear coat to lay the Polished Aluminium down. well...the black didn't like that clear coat and the wing is in the STRIP tank as I type. It should be ready for the primer coat tomorrow. Sure glad I bought 3 cans of the Yellow paint... Here are a few pics of the new update things....(click on pic)
The nose with screen and the dirt screen that will attach to the front nerf bar....Before paint..
The nose and chassis(mocked up) with the new paint...
Here's a look at the stripped wing. The new end plate faired well...but the old one didn't...so...this time I fabbed them out of .030. That should do the trick as far as them being to flimsy plus...this is the 3rd time around for this wing. One would think I'd have it down by now...ya know?
I was trying to get this build finished for the Model Expo show in Portland this weekend...but..not going to make it. Three out of the 4 guys that where going down have to work. I'm one of the three. But....This build will be finished for next yrs show...that's for sure Thanks for looking in folks....

Here's a few pics of the stripped Wing with the new wing end plates freshly glued in place. This time I think these will do the trick. This will probably get shot with primer after this weekend.
