Looks great! I really like the dirt on it, it give it a more realistic detail! I feel your feeling on the nerf bars, I almost step on the Land Rover chassis...

Thanks Brizio...I'm still working with the weathering on it. The rear nerfbars are rebuilt and shot with Alclad today. That's the last item that goes on the car. It will be weather'd a little and this build will be Finished. Now...It's on to the trailer and the pull truck. I will have finished pics posted in a few days. I'd like to get some outside shots of it...but I don't think there's a chance of the happen'in for at least 4-5 months! Well...maybe less...who knows up here...ya know??

Here's the finished car. I wanted to get a few shots of it on a dirt surface...but...it's raining out... The photo booth will have to work for now. Thanks for looking in on this VERY long build.

I have to admit I was having trouble with the colors during the build-up phase. It was always a superb piece of construction but I had to wait for the completion to see how it would "read". Now, sitting complete with its gorgeous stance and handsomely weathered, this is just a beautiful, beautiful model. The strong colors complement the dirt and dust and give the ensemble a convincing realism. I look forward to seeing it at one of this year's local model shows!

Thank you Bernard...The whole idea from the start of this build was to replicate a medium to high buck Super Modified race team that ran in the 70s. The paint schemes in those days where pretty colorful to say the least. Some of these colorful paint schemes are still around today. Most of the local guys don't usually want to spend the extra money(no such thing as EXTRA MONEY....) on a real fancy paint scheme...especially when they are run'in on dirt. But....some teams did put the bucks out to do it. Being around them quite a lot and on a few teams.... These cars still give me that cool feeling when watching them throw it into turn 1...sideways....
