Good that your computer is back on track! We will have to wait next year to see this model done. LOL...I hope it's not another YEAR before this car is finished... In reality...it should be finished in the next two weeks. But you are correct on being able to see it...it WILL be next year...

Here's a progress memo....The body paint is almost finished. I've got to tape off the nose to shoot the other two colors and that will be finished. I shot all the bar work with Alclad and I'm not satisfied with it...so...I'm going to re-shoot it. The side Nerf bars are good to go as they are Aluminum rod and don't need painted. The car is in mockup in these pics as I needed to get a few final measurements before painting the wing. It's getting there..

The nose and Wing are finished. I made the Decals(changed colors on those too...) for this car and they will probably go on tonight. I set the running gear in place to get a few final measurements. Here are a few pics....
The new painted Wing....
The body with New Nose/Paint/screen and running gear mock-up...
Hope to have this come together soon...then I want to do a Trailer for it...go figure..eh? ;D Thanks for looking folks..

Beautiful! And a truck for pull the trailer??? You don't want push it! ;D Man...I don't think I'd last 2 seconds try'in to push that thing to the Track...Ya know?? LOL I've got a 1/18 56 ford pickup that I had started to do about 16 yrs ago. It was shot a yellow color (almost the same as the super mod) and I'm thinking about shooting a second color on it and using it as a pull truck for this car. I'm going to have to make a pretty big covered Display case for this one.
I've got all the decals made for the car. I also got the weathering powders(Santa) to make it look a little dirty. I also need to rebuild( I know...I know...) the rear Nerf bars as they got toasted(broke) over the Holidays. So...this will start the new year with a good positive finished Build. I'll have update pics of this Super in the next few weeks.

Well....as it's been said...all good plans don't ALWAYS go as planned... While putting on the bar padding...I noticed that the back hoop looked a little Kaddy Wapus. It was leaning toward the left looking from the rear forward. It dawned on me... that when I put the Shrink tubbing on and applied the heat to shrink it up...it also warped the rear hoop a tad bit. Soooo....I'm in the process of REBUILDING the rear hoop and all the attachments that need to be rebuilt. I have used the heat shrink in the past with no problems at all. But...the big difference this time is that the roll cage was NOT attached to the frame or body for support. All the other builds the cage was attached to the frame. Big lesson there...I'll tell ya... I'll post a few pics. The left and right upper bars can still be used. The crossbars, shock mount brackets, wing mount brackets all have to be replaced. I will probably use a different material for the padding on the two back cross bars ...LOL..(no more heat!!! on this build any way) (Click to get big).

Well...The rear hoop and ALL the mounting brackets are finished(again..) This should be primed and ready for the red paint by tomorrow night. Here's a few pics to look at. I mounted the wing to make sure the brackets are in the correct positions. I had to move the wing back to the first hole in the front mounts. It was to far back when mounted in the third hole. Pics with hood( 1st two pics) show final position.

Man...I can't believe this is starting to come to the end of this build. But...not with out MORE things going sidecar on this project. I went into the paint room a few days ago to lay down the RED on the Rollcage and I stepped on something that made a Crack sound...you know...that sound when plastic BREAKS... well...I stepped on the rear NERF BARS. The Third set that was just rebuilt.Man...I said a few really neat words like..."GOSH...HOW'D THAT GET ON THE FLOOR UNDER MY FOOT".. ;D. I shot the primer on the cage...grabbed the pieces on the floor....went into the shop and built the 4th rear nerfbar set. I just finished painting it with Alclad Black and The Cage also got the Red on and will be mounted tomorrow. I'll shoot the polished Aluminum tomorrow also.
Here are a few pics of the car with the start of the mudding process. The Dash is finished and in. The side Nerfbars are in mockup and will come off to do the final details with paint and mud. Thanks for looking in Folks....(Click for larger pic)
