My current project is an entry for actually 2 different build off's. The first one is for the local club in Spokane, which was a one month truck build off. The second was a challenge between a few coworkers and myself due July 1st. I started with a 1965 Chevy stepside. I dug through my parts bins and older kits to find useful parts for the build. I came across the Revell 1968 Corvette 2 'n 1 and opted to use the 427 out of it. I started assembling the engine and decided to test my skills and wired the engine (only second one I have ever wired). I then ran a braided line from the fuel pump up to the carb. I scratch built the linkage from the intake hat to the carb. From there I dropped the suspension 1/8" which is 3" in 1:1 so it was a pretty dramatic drop. In doing so I had to remove the front fenders to make room for the front tires. I am also scratch building new exhaust that will exit in front of the rear tires using 3/32" styrene tube (not rod) to give it the hollow look and will be tipped off with custom exhaust tips. I also cut the cowl scoop out of the hood from the vette and graphed it into the hood of the 76For the paint I started off with a Testors Diamond Dust then shop a Testors Purple-Licious over that. This morning I just shot one of my favorite colors with a few light mists of Wicked Colors Pearl Blue from my airbrush to give it a little bit of a multi color look. Enough talk time for pics. All comments/suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
In the next 2 pictures you can see the height difference from a stock built 65
This pic is with a light mist of the pearl blue.
Thanks for looking. Ill post pics as I make more progress.
