We all know the saga of the AMT '32 Fords. They all have some major flaw, whether it's that they are effectively sectioned 3" or that the cowl has the wrong profile or that the profile of the body froward of the doors is wrong. They were the best thing on the block before the Revell '32 Ford series came about. The one body style that seems to have escaped the eye of Revell is the Victoria. The Victoria in my opinion is the classiest of all the '32 Fords. There are several '32 Victoria's available in resin, most of them are based on the aforementioned AMT body.
Several years ago I attempted an AMT/Revell Vicki conversion. The build was never completed as it didn't have the proper profile when it was ready for paint. The AMT body is to narrow by aprox. .200".
A few months back a couple of former PSAMA members (Wes Hofferber and Jon Ferren) started a '32 Vicki build using the AMT Vicki and Revell Sedan bodies.
Using the same bodies and technique I decided it's time to add a more correct '32 Victoria to the collection. The initial cuts have been made so let the reassembly begin. The rear portion of the AMT body is used along with front section of the Revell body
In order to give the Vicki the proper profile the AMT body needs to be widened in order to sit properly on the Revell frame and fenders. Pieces of .010X.250 Evergreen Styrene are attached to provide a means to get the rear pieces to sit correctly.
Next up is to chop the roof as the roof of the Victoria is several inches shorter then stock '32 Sedan.

The Flathead from the '32 Sedan kit will be used and as much of the Sedan interior will be used along with the Step-Wells from the AMT Vicki kit. The one thing I've already noticed that will require some serious reworking is the rear of the body as the lower edge of the Vicki body doesn't sit properly over the Sedan fuel tank.
I'm still kicking around the color as well as the tire/wheel combination. My thoughts so far are Black Fenders w/Black Cherry upper body and Steel wheel w/caps and beauty rings.
Stay tuned
