In the Facebook group Hot Rod and Custom Model Cars an Annual CBP was started 3 years ago called the Gathering of the Outlaws. The idea is to build a hot rod or custom in the tradition of Viva Las Vegas, Lone Star Roundup, Billetproof. It's were the best of the best gather to show off what they've built in the past few months. The CBP is 6 months in duration, the Gathering III started today August 1st and runs through January 31st. I was challenged to build a representation of the shop truck built by Gambino Customs. Their shop truck is actually a '39 Ford with '36 Coupe front sheet metal. I'm going to build it starting with a Revell '37 Ford Pickup, using AMT '36 "sheet metal". I'm also going to use the rear fenders from the AMT kit. The build will not be a true replica of Gambino's shop truck, but hopefully it will have the same flavor. Gambino Customs, concept drawing Hosted on FotkiStay tuned

The '37 is actually making progress. I chose to go with the 2 cab version of the chop so I didn't have to fill the gap in the roof once the chop was completed. Full height on the right, chopped cab on the left, the front portion of the cab yet to be added: The chop completed. Using the 2 cabs saves a lot of extra time and effort vs filling a gap and getting everything back to the proper profile: Hosted on FotkiStay tuned
