Well...now that the Super Modified is finished, I started back on a replica build that's waiting for me. This is a 57 Chevy that was built by Tim Field( my cousin) and his Father, back in the mid to late 70s. The engine was a 327 SB that was built for street racing along with the muncie 4spd. The car was painted a med Met. Blue with pearl white Ghost flames on the hood. The outside and all the running gear was finished on the car. The interior was being redone when Tim had to sell it. Soooo...with all that in mind...I'm going to build the interior as if Tim and I would've done it together. Infact... WE are doing it together....I'm on the phone with him quite a lot as I build the inside. I've found pretty much all the items that I need( Reference pics also) to get this project under way.
Here are a few pics of the Engine with the Tri-carb setup, Hooker Headers, scratch built dip stick and muncie 4spd mocked up
The rear seat has been modified to accept a new Tuck-n-roll seating sections....
The Bucket seats are from the Parts box...Here's the interior in mockup....
There's more to show...but I have to load more pics into the FOTKI acct. as they had moved lock... stock... and Barrel...to another country.

Hey folks...it's been sometime since I've been able to work on this project. Life things have really been taken it's share of my building and shop time. Also...I dropped Photobucket and went over to Fotki and had to load all the photos of the current projects so I could post pics. I've re-posted the beginning Pics of this project with better pics. They are not clickables... but that's fine with me, as long as you folks can view them. I'll have a few up-date pics later this week as I'm able to get a few days in the shop...thanks for looking in...

I am really liking this so far. Watching with interest, in fact I may have to dig out my 57 convert that I started a few years back. Keep it going.

Well folks....I've got more things done on this 57 but...Fotki is doing something that I can't figure out. Sooo...I can't post updates.I've got two Accounts and both are acting really strange. The pages are a different color that I picked and the whole page( or pages) are really weird. I can't go to any of the Folders. Is anyone else having any problems with Fotki?? As soon as I can...I'll post update pics...

I guess Fotki got whatever was wrong fixed...So..I can post a few update pics.
I cleaned up the body and re-scribed all of the outside chrome. This really made it stand out. It will also make it easier to BMF later down the road. The hood and trunk were also hinged and cleaned of most of the molded detail as the kit does provide P.E. for those areas. The door handle were also shaved off and drilled out for the fabbed pieces that will go there.
All the lettering on the tires to include the spare was hand painted with Polly S Flat White. I drilled out the center and lug nut holes on the spare also...I think it would be Kinda Weird to see a tire that's bolted up in the trunk..LOL..
The knobs on the dash have been drilled out so I can add the fabricated knobs of metal tubing and plastic rod at a later date.

Thanks Bruce! I've got a few more things Built for the interior. The 8 track tape player has been built along with a case that will hold extra tapes. The tapes have been made also. This will be mounted under dash below the glove box, next to the oil/water gauges and tach. Everything is still in the white plastic phase right now, but as soon as I get some paint on them I'll post pics of them...

Man....it seems like it's been a life Time since I've been able to post updates and pic's. FOTKI finally got all their equipment moved to the new location as 90% of all my pics are back. I just loaded new pics of the Chassis and I'll post them today. The chassis is 90% complete. 3 colors of paint where shot to give it some depth. The NEW exhaust is built using solder. The tips and mufflers are Detail Master parts. The I'm going to weather it slightly as this was an everyday driver. (Mockup before paint)
(firewall had to be modified for the distributor to fit correctly.)
(PAINTED CHASSIS) With new exhaust.... With rear end in place... (FIREWALL...)
There has been a lot more work done, but... I need to load it up into FOTKI. I'll post more real soon. Thanks for looking in folks.
