I have been in a building slump for quite a while, I ran across a photo of a Channeled Model A Sedan that was featured in IIRC Rod and Custom close to 10 years ago. With Revell reissuing the '31 Model A Sedan it seems that now would be a good time to get something started that would get me out of this slump and build a pretty cool custom rod at the same time. I don't recall what was under the hood of the 1:1 Sedan, chances are it was an SBC, the model will end up using the flatty out of the Revell '32 Sedan. While there is a fair amount of body work required for the build it's all pretty straight forward. Hosted on FotkiPicked up the '31 Sedan earlier today, stay tuned.

I sure like the looks of this one Dave. What kit are you going to use for the build? The Flat head sounds like a good choice too. Looking forward to this one bud...

Revell, just reissued the '31 Model A Sedan. In theory, it's a Rat Rod Version, so it has the tires and wheels from the '29 Pickup. Most of the parts for build will be from the '31 kit. The frame will need to be 'Z'ed to get the rear down where it needs to be. I'll most likely use the axles as well as other misc pieces from the '32 Sedan kit for the build. Hosted on FotkiStay Tuned

I saw that kit today at Fantasy World Hobby shop and I thought of this build you're doing. I didn't pick the kit up as I have to many to build now...but...the more I think about it....

A little update on the Sedan: The 1st thing that had to be done was to markup the Fender Unit for the parts that had to be removed to allow the body to be channeled down to the running boards. The Fender Unit after the frame covers were removed to allow the body to be channeled. The rear support between the fender unit will be left in place until it's ready to be attached to the frame. Once the fender unit is roughed in a masking tape mask was made from the rear fender on the opposite side of the body. Once it was applied to the body it was outlined with a Sharpie. All material below the line was removed with a scalpel. The size of the fender opening was adjusted to allow the body to sit flush with the running boards. Hosted on FotkiTo allow the body to sit down on the running boards required the fender opening to extend all the way up to the lower body character line. That's all for tonight, stay tuned

A quick update on the Sedan, got the other side of the body carved out to allow the body to sit down on the fender unit. The front of the fender unit by the firewall still needs some work to allow the body to sit level. Hosted on FotkiAt this point the cowl/firewall are glued to the roof/body piece, the doors are taped in to make alignment of the cowl easier. The 'stock' interior floor piece is in place but is going to have to modified or replace completely as it's not nearly wide enough sitting a good 1/2" higher in the body so it doesn't force the body to the width it needs to be to fill the opening created by removing the frame covers. More to come, stay tuned.
