I currently have two big projects that I am working on. A 69 Daytona pro mod that is so far along and so many pictures I wouldn't know where to begin to show anything here.
The other is a 78 Dodge 4x4 MPC kit that I picked up at one of the past Modelfest contests back in say 04 or 05. I have been sitting on it all of this time waiting for just the right motivation to do something with it.
Well, here it is. This is basically the look of where this thing was when I bought it.
I swapped out the kit tires for some baby swampers from American Satco.
From there I went to work on figuring out what I wanted the exterior to look like. I came up with an idea to follow a sort of modern trend. I see a lot of 1:1 trucks running around with camo graphics along the base of the rocker panels so I decided that I would attempt to make my own. I found the necessary images online and transferred what I needed to decal film. The body is painted with Testors Pearl Black Metallic and I added camo decals along the rocker panels as well as creating a rally stripe theme along the roof and hood. Along with that I stumbled across a cool looking ram image that I decided to turn into a hood decal.
I'm pretty happy with the way the decals came out, especially for a first try.
I also decided that I wanted an image in the rear window as well, so I went ahead and found just the right shot for that to convert into a decal.
Eventually I will get to the engine which will be a Ross Gibson 440 Magnum unit.
