Yes, Dave, I said Chevy. Being a staunch Mopar guy you will seldom see a Chevy build come from my workbench but that's not to say that I don't build them ever. Some of my best models built have been GM products. Either way, a co-worker approached me to see if I could build a replica of his uncles car from back in the day. Since there never was a kit of a 52 Chevy I had to do some work. I started with a 51 Bel Air and cut the roof and front cowl off just behind the B-pillar. I then did the same to a 51 Fleetline body and took the roof section from the Fleetline and spliced it in. Then I had to reshape the back window and scratchbuild the drip rail and trim molding. This was a 52 business coupe so it had no side trim to speak of. I resin cast the three bar spinner hubcaps for the front and made a custom license plate (accurate for the real car) for the back. I had a lot of fun doing this and since my friends uncle was dealing with cancer it made his day seeing his old car a few weeks before he lost his battle.
