I got the body for this build from one of the guys over on the TRaK forum, originally I had planned to use it for a different '29 Coupe project. Then I found this one HAMB. It didn't take long to fall in love with the stance and attitude of the Coupe even if it's missing it's powerplant. The Inspiration: The starting point: Needless to say the body is already in the purple pond getting back to bare plastic. All the body lines were removed from the body, but seeing how it's going to get converted into a '29 Coupe it's not that big a deal. A couple of hours with the stash of Evergreen and we'll be back in great shape. I was fortunate to have picked up a couple of partial Monogram '29 Roadster pickups at a Contest/Swap Meet last November. One of those bodies will loose it's Cowl and I'll also use the fender unit as the '29 Fenders are a slight bit different then those from the '30. Hosted on FotkiI have no idea what I'll add in front of the firewall, perhaps I'll rework the flatty from the '36 Coupe. Thanks for looking, stay tuned more to come and as always your comments and suggestions are welcomed. Fletch

That's kinda the nice thing about taking a separate body and a parts kit and using the parts to create something not available from the 'Little 3' manufactures. To be politically correct the body, fenders and cowl have been repurposed to become something greater then they were individually. How, that for a line of crap? Anyway, got the body stripped today. Replaced the '30 Model 'A' cowl with the one from the '29 RPU body. Radiused the rear fender openings on the Coupe body to fit the '29 fender unit. Hosted on FotkiThe tires and wheels under the Coupe are from the Lil' Coffin' the chrome was so bad that the only kind thing to do was to strip them and repaint them. I've been looking for a build for them to call home and this just might just be it. I'm going to repaint them with ALCLAD II Gloss Black Base Coat then ALCLAD II Chrome and see how the turn out. If I don't like the way they look they can always go to Chrome-Tech. Next on the agenda, replace all the missing body molding. That will be the weekend project during the 40th annual Bob Paeth Portland Classic Model Car Contest.

Didn't get a great deal of time to work on the Coupe during the Roadster Show bu managed to get some of the body mold lines back on it. Hosted on FotkiI am hoping to get the remainder of the molding back on the body over the next couple of days. It's always fun unpacking all you stuff following a show, trying to find where you put everything is even more of a challenge that actually building something during the show.
