This all started in January when I got my Double Dragster kits. I had seen a couple full fender-ed Topolinos and wanted to try building one.
Putting the 40 Willy's front and rear on the Topolino body was beyond me.
I started by trying different fender sets. The Revell 32 3 window looked doable. Plus it gave me a frame to work with. Then I discovered the fender set fit the AMT 32 Vickie frame like a glove. Even better thought the Buck. This gave the car a new style tube frame. Mustang II style front suspension, fair looking rear end.
For an engine I added the Ross Gibson late model injected Hemi. I mean Topolino's are supposed to have Hemi's in them. There was no way to use the Torqueflite Automatic that came with the engine. In the junk yard I found a bell housing and 36-50 style transmission that would shorten things up and work.
The interior is all junk yard. I don't know what the seats come from but they match. The dash and door panels came from the Revell 3 window kit. Pro Tech 5 point harnesses and it was good to go.
The exhaust system is scratched from solder. The coil springs are from a transmission shift kit. The shocks are scratched from aluminum tubing as is the drive shaft.
Added a digital style fuel injection system scratched from beads and craft wire. The brake system is plumbed using craft wire. Spark plug wires and radiator hoses are craft wire.
The color is Nissan Orange Mist by Dulpi-Color. I am very happy with the way it turned out. I barely finished the car in time for Model Fest.
Thanks for taking to time to look. All comments and questions are welcome.
