Hey Folks...Guess I have an UP-DATE for the 49 Merc ( also the the birth yr CBP on FB. ;D) The Dash had to be moved up 2". The rear of the body ALSO had to be dropped 1" in order for it to sit correctly. I had to completely strip the Hood as The black I shot on it(after primming) had a small re-action. Then it was sanded and re-primed along with the complete body. The Back bumper was fab'd and mocked up for the pics. Now...everything has to be lightly wet sanded with 800 and then it can be shot with color.I think this will make the March deadline.. (never should've said that...I might've jinx'd myself... ;D

Man it looks good in primer. LOL...Man Buck...I was looking at it in The primer...and started thinking about leaving it that way and maybe making it a beggining of the season type build. The testing cars if you will....but..I think it will be shot with some paint...
Looks great!!! Looking forward for see which color you are gonna with it. Thanks Brizio...it's going to be the same orange and black paint scheme. No yellow stripe this time. I'm going to make the hood all black this time around..instead of the Orange w/blk stripe.

Well....it's been some time since the last update. A few things have changed a little since the last one(update)... A V.Stack was made for the carb...as it is sticking up through the hood now. The bar padding has been added along with the shifter. The Sheet metal for the rear deck area has been fabbed and painted along with the fuel cell. The battery box(w/bat.) was painted and now is waiting for the wiring to be installed(today) along with the fire extinguisher. The Racing Harness will be fabbed tomorrow and that will be the interior. All body work is completed and re-shot with primer. The color coats should go on this week. Here are a few update pics...

Thanks folks...got a few more things finished tonight. Got the fuel line ran and the fuel log Fabbed up. They'll be mounted onto the carb tomorrow. It's getting real close to putting the motor in permenately also. Still have to do the Racing Harness and battery wires. that should be finished tomorrow also. Once all that's done...it's back to painting the body.

The chassis is Finished on this puppy. The Orange is shot on the body. The Hood has been redone, the rock shield has been removed and a larger air cleaner has been installed. The hood and body stripes will be shot tomorrow. Then...the decals will be added and this car will be finished. This has taken a little longer to build...but..I'm starting to like the looks of it. I think I'm trying to convince myself of that anyway...LOL. Here are a few pics of the rolling chassis....
