This build is really taking sometime to get finished. I don't know why?? Well...This started as the Rides Magazine 49 Coupe kit. The only thing that I have used from the kit is the body and the chassis. I modified the Chassis(cut every thing off that looked like a production car) and scratch built the Rollcage and interior. The trunklid was attached permenetly, the hump sanded off and it was rescribed. The quick change rearend came from an ASA kit. The Tires and Wheels are what I made here. This is one of the builds that I want to finish for 2010. It should be finished for the trip down to the NNL WEST in Santa Clara...but as we all know....there are no gar-own-tees on that one... ;D Here are a few pics of the build so far.... WOW....I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH PHOTOBUCKET...BUT I CAN'T LOAD PICS. I HAD A FEW IN HERE AND ONLY A PORTION OF THEM SHOWED UP. THEY SAID THAT THE PICS HAD BEEN DELETED OR MOVED. WELL....THEY HAD NOT..SOOO..I'LL TRY AGAIN LATER. (I'm not yelling...just wanted a different size of letters so blind folks like myself can read what's going on... ;D

I'm seriously liking this build Gary, it is unique based on the subject. The craftsmanship is very cool. I like that you enlarged the drivers side window opening so that "Mature" drivers could get in and out.

Thanks for the comps Dave....That drivers window was opened up to replicate what some of the guys did back in the 60's. It was done to give more room to get the driver out of the car if he was involved in a crash and was unconcious. Of course....it can ALSO double as a "MATURE DRIVER OPENING"

Very nice. I don't think I have seen a 49 Merc circle car. Excellent workmanship and a good subject.

Wow! Incredible work Gary! Your craftsmanship always has me in awe! Thanks for the compliment Dog...This puppy has come to a slow crawl (as far as the build goes...LOL) I've been involved in adding new material to the resin stuff and that sure takes up a lot of time. I wanted to try and get it finished for the Model Car Sunday show this coming Sunday....But..I don't think it's going to make it. Oh well....Next year it will be there.... Very nice. I don't think I have seen a 49 Merc circle car. Excellent workmanship and a good subject. Thanks Z....I've seen a few mercs across the U.S. that run in the Vintage modified class. Alot of the guys are taking full bodied cars and lowering them and making pretty cool looking modifieds out of them. This merc build I'm doing is a full fender'd rendition of the Sportsman Modified class.
