Since i have been away from scale models for so long, figure some updated education is in order. Can anyone point me in the direction of some printed material,online/local supply places, and any other pertinent information to help get my feet wet again? Did the google thing,a little overwheming to say the least, and would really prefer to shop where the CS is. Had a local hobby shop, geared mostly towards the RC crowd, but it's recent demise has left a void out here in Gresham. There used to be another on 181/Halsey (iirc) but it too has been gone a while. Thanks, Dennis

One of the best sources on the net is actually the Model Car Magazine Forum. www.modelcarsmag.com/forumsOn the MCM forum there is a 'Tips, Tricks, and Ideas' section. With almost 5,000 members you can either find or ask questions and get reasonable answers to your inquiry. Any questions you want to ask go ahead and post them here, if one of us can't answer it, there's a good chance we can direct you to the resource to get you pointed in the right direction. With the closing of Aero Sports there are really only about 3 good Local Hobby Shops (LHS) left in the area. Those being Hobbytown USA on SE 82nd at 82nd and Johnson Creek. Bridgetown Hobbies on Sandy Blvd and Tammies Hobbies out in Beaverton by Beaverton Town Square off Canyon Rd. There are a couple of other specialized shops around that cater to the Model Railroad community, but a lot of the supplies crossover. Hobbytown USA and Tammies are both geared to the RC community but are well stocked for the us Model Car guys. Personally, I shop Bridgetown, more then the other 2 as they're closer to me and have always treated me right. The hobby like just about anything else has moved ahead with technology. For years we complained that the kits weren't close enough to scale. Some of the newer kits are now so close to scale that it can make assembly difficult. Hope that helps, I know the Google search can be a bit daunting from time to time unless you can narrow the search parameters. Fletch
