On one of the other forums that I belong to KKIM (Kustom Kemps in Miniature) a member of the forum contacted Keith Weesner about using his artwork for the basis of a Model Building Challenge. Keith bestowed his blessing on the challenge. When the assignments were given out I got the piece called 'Sunset Drag'. The Challenge is to be completed by the fall 2010 KKIM get together in Kansas. KKIM is the group that hosted Bob Paeth the summer before his passing.
I may gotten off a bit easier then some on the subject of the challenge what with Revell's multi-body style of the '32 Ford. The kit for the main part of the build will be the new '32 5 Window coupe. The '32 Sedan will provide the flathead and speed parts for the build. I'm still not sure what the carbs from the Sedan are suppose to represent but obviously they're not Stromberg 97s, so I'll most likely source then from the '50 Ford Pickup.
I will most likely end up replacing the heads from the '32 Sedan with a more detailed set from MCG.
Here is what I have out of my aftermarket parts box for the build.
I need to order the tires, wheels and headers from Modelhaus and RMoM. Other then that I think I'm good to get on the build.
Took a few minutes last evening to do the initial prep work in the body and frame getting them ready for the chop and fill work ahead.

The chop on the 5 Window is pretty severe and will take a bit of manipulation to get it right as my best guess is the it's about 5" and the rear and 5.5" at the front.
With the duration of the building time and my love of '32 Fords I may very well end up building the Sedan that is in the background. It's pretty much open to interpretation as all you can really tell is that it's chopped with steelies on the front.
Stay tuned.
