Got a call from one of the club members asking about how to 'Z' a frame. The basics of 'Zing' as well as 'C' Notching a frame are contained in this article from Rod & Custom from Sept 1964. All I have is the first page of this article, if by chance someone has access to the others pages please feel free to add it to the topic. Nothing terribly difficult, just a matter of cutting the frame where you want the 'Z', adding any additional to make the 'Z' deeper to accommodate a deeper channel or to put the ride even closer to the weeds. Great Info. I see the article was written by Leroy "Tex" Smith. He is the guy that built the XR-6. When I was a kid I followed the building of that car in Hot Rod magazine every month for a year or more. I remember the frame started out as some chalk marks on the floor. Just recently I scored a XR-6 kit that is 90% complete (frame missing) and a poorly built model that I can take apart and get a frame from. It is 4 down on my to do list.
