I found my way to your thread on the advice of some local portland area hobby shops. I am not a model hobbyist myself. If I was, I would very likely have the skillset to accomplish the project I'm working on and would not be bugging you fine people. Here it goes...
My hobby is golf. Most golf clubs use a oil based paint to fill in the recessed areas of logos on the clubs. I wanted to customize my Nike forged irons. The swoosh logo came with the neon green paint and I stripped it using citristrip. My plan is/was to use some white testors model paint and put a few layers in there. But I quickly realized that I'm painfully novice at avoiding bubbles or having the knack for detail.
There are golf club refinishing outfits around the country that offer paintfill services, but none in the pacific northwest. Shy of shipping my clubs off for weeks on end in the heart of the good weather season and spending nearly 75 dollars in shipping costs, I'm kind of stuck. I thought maybe I might see if any local Portlanders on SABA with a skilled hand, might see fit to help me paint my clubs. I'm more than happy to pay for the work.
Cheers.

You can try to thin the paint, and use small quantity.

If it were me and the logo was imprinted or raised I would mask off the club cut out the logo and use a spray paint. I like you have found its a bit hard to get brush on paint to come out smooth unless you do like brizio said and thin it. Of you thin it keep in mind that you will need to add more coats. If you spray it gho you can then clear it with something like pledge floor wax with future shine that is self leveling. That's just my 2 cents. Hope it helps. If I don't see a reply from you by end of month I'll fwd this message to you via your email
