Hi, I'm a 49 year old guy, living in the Tacoma area, who has dabbled with model cars off and on for about forty of those years. My first model that I can recall was some kind of fifties car that had a see though hood. I remember making a total mess of it, painted it with a brush but I also loved it! I would say I'm a builder of average skills - nothing too exciting but always eager to learn new stuff. As I get older I find my attention wanders a bit and I find it extremely difficult to finish anything, models being no exception. I tend to sit and dream a lot about the possibilities rather than actually build anything. Anyway, I decided to jump back in when I went to a recent swap meet for full size cars and found a huge box of models for thirty bucks. These were mostly projects that had been started and the builder seems to have been fairly advanced, skillwise. Lots of custom work and wiring, plumbing, etc. The cars have all sat in open boxes for a long time. Thick dust, dried out putty and tree needles in most of the boxes. There were a few gems in the box too. I found some photo-etched parts as well as a couple resin cars and an old 1961 Bonneville screw together kit. I'm slowly getting started back into the hobby, trying to figure which kit to start with and gathering supplies. I'll throw up some pictures of my project cars. It's good to know there are other guys here in the northwest that are in to this hobby. Hopefully I'll get down that way sometime to meet some of you guys someday too. Great forum by the way!
