I have owned this truck now almost 3 years. I scored when I got it for $2,500. When I bought the truck it already had brand new wheels/tires, interior (seats both front and back, headliner, dash pad, and carpet), brand new edlebrock 650 4bbl, and fuel tank sending unit. I then went and got a set of Edlebrock chrome valve covers to give it a little clean look under the hood. I drove the truck off and on as it is horrible on gas being a 400m small block with a 3 speed auto driving a posi rear end. I had it parked at my in laws for quite a while and decided to go take it for a spin, well something wasnt right and pretty sure I hurt the motor. So thats where im at now, tearing the front end off and prepping to rebuild the engine. Im contemplating sticking with the 400 or having it bored out to a 406 or 408 (to have it rebuilt to stock is $1,500 and same with having it bored out). As for body its extremely straight and little to no rust at all. I decoded the vin using the ford site and it is a factory supercab short box with a factory 400m small block and was the 6,725 truck built at the Kentucky plant.

Thanks brizio! My wife has given me free will to do as I please for the final paint job but encourages flames of some sort lol. We have discussed it and I am thinking jet black with a dark charcoal grey flame almost a ghost affect. Gonna rebuild the 400 small block and shoot for 400+ horsepower

Update on truck. Frame rails are sanded down and flat blacked to prevent rusting, transmission is cleaned up as much as I could reach with the wire wheel, engine is tore down to a short block awaiting funds to send off for rebuild. I also got he cab mounts out and the cab is ready to come off the frame. There is a local shop that will sand blast my entire frame as a roller for $300 so I cant say no to that, it would cost me more in my own labor and wire wheels if I did it myself. All the interior is out aside from the dash and I am kicking around the idea of going to bucket seats up front and building a custom center console with integrated cup holders, a flip up arm rest/console, and moving the stereo down into the console as I want it to wrap up the trans tunnel and marry to the dash. I also as of yesterday have both gas tanks out and I am currently trying to get the stubborn old rear struts off. Thanks for looking. I really wish there was a kit for this body style. I would totally build 2, one of what I got the truck as and one as how i want it to look when finished.
