I'm back... Finally I have some time to build something... Lately I was busy doing home and 1/1 car projects... The idea is to build a race car in 1/24-5... Here the chassis/interior, the chassis is from my model parts box and it has dimension correct for what I think I'm building.

The car is a Cadillac, but not a fancy one, with luxurious interior and and tons of chrome... The one I want to replicate is the one raced a the 24Hr of Le Mans in 1950... The one the french press called "Le Monstre" because of it unusual shape... Here a pics of the real car. after 30 years two American cars went back to Le Mans. This time two 1950 Cadillac, one a pretty much stock Serie 61 (changed carburetors, add an auxiliary tank, and few other things), the second one built bi Cunningham with the help of the Grumman Aircraft, had a 5 carburetor set up and a more "aerodynamic" shape. The Serie 61 was driven by Sam and Miles Collier, and finished 10th. Le Monstre was driven by Cunningham and Phil Walters, and finished 11th... They say because he spend over 30 minutes on a sand hole and had to borrow a shovel from a spectator because he did not have one in the car. Here both cars.

Thank you Bruce! Here some more work on it... Actually not too much... But it will be necessary for build the body... Some putty on the tunnel, and add fort test only the front suspension system so I can start to check the wheelbase and ground clearance. I will replace the front suspension with the one in the other pics. Same for the rear axle. The springs are only for keep the axle in place so I can check the wheelbase and ground clearance. After I will build a new set of springs.

Thank you Gary! Yes find reference pictures or other information is a big challenge, but it is part of the fun. I had to contact a museum, and private collectors to gather all the information I need... It take time, too much... I toke me almost a couple of months for collect all. Any way, now I can build it. I was thinking too, to build the other Caddy, but for now I'm having enough of this one... Yesterday I start to build the body, soon I will post some pics...

;D ;D ;D You are right, It doesn't make sense, but I learn another slang term! ;D ;D ;D For the paint I don't know if paint it like it was in the 50's (new, white-blue), or like before the last restoration, that the white became yellowish... Luckily the blue did not change too much... ;D I'm thinking to stay like it was in the 50's... But I can change my mind before arrive to that point... There is still tons to build... Anyway, Thanks! Here some more progress... I think... ;D I cut the head off to a lot of screws, and glue them on the car. I had to cut some more screws because some flew around the room. The next thing I made are the windows mount. Here the back part.
