As many of you know the '32 Ford 5 Window BP is drawing to an end. January 31st is the official last day of the CBP with the finished projects presented at February SABA meeting.
At the January meeting Mike (Carnut) issued a challenge to the club to build a '36 Ford. The basis of the build can be any of the AMT or Monogram '36 Ford kit. The limiting factor is they must be a Coupe, Convertible or Cabriolet. So, much for my great idea of finally having a reason to build that Flintstone '36 Tudor.
The Challenge runs through the end of June with the finished build presented at the July meeting. If we were to actually get them done in time we could have a '36 Ford Coupe Challenge at Billetproof on June 25th.
So, dig those '36 Ford kits out and get to building.

Hey Dave, I've got the AMT Dick Tracy kit and I've been looking for a reason to build it. I've also got the perfect project in mind. This is a picture of a car taken at the Coburg Grainge a few years ago when we were down for one of the model contests and this group of guys stopped in as they were crusin to a local show. I always thought this car was cool looking. Now maybe I have the inspiration to build it. Then, if I get it complete I could probably send it to you to bring to the meeting that these builds will be presented at.

Great looking car Wayne, that would look seriously cool in scale. Get it completed and up here before June 25th and we'll take it to Billetproof. I'd really like to see how many we can get completed by then and have a Class just for this Challenge build.
BTW, I spoke with Mike earlier and per our conversation resin conversion bodies are acceptable for the Challenge. So, if you have Flintstone or other resin body go ahead and build it as part of the challenge. Which means I'll dig out the Tudor Sedan body and hopefully get it along with a Monogram 3 Window completed.

I think I have a couple of 36's in various stages to build. I better get cracking since I issued this challenge.

You can't use a Customized body So this is box kit build?

You can't use a Customized body So this is box kit build? Mike and I talked about it and resin conversion bodies are allowable for the CBP. The CBP must be a '36 Ford Passenger vehicle.
