Man Buck....I haven't made it to a Race this yr. I do miss that smell. Wether it's Asphalt or dirt...it smells cool!!Looks great! How big it is (ok it is a Miget...) ;D? Just for have an idea, I never saw this kind of race cars in 1/1... Fabrizio...I'll find a pic of a 1/1 to post so you can see what they look like. The wheel base on this particular style of Midget( Kurtis Craft) is 72". Pretty short for the speeds they turn out.Back in the day...they didn't have a high rollbar to protect them either. Alot of drivers where killed back then. Here's a few pics of a 1948 Kurtis Craft midget. It runs today in the Vintage series...

Gary, the workmanship on the Offy is incredible, without a doubt this will be another winner. You and Fabrizio are forcing all the rest of us to step up our game.

Gary, the class in New Jersey got canceled, which sucked even if I wasn't looking forward to going to Jersey. I had planned on driving up to Loudin yesterday for the Modifieds/CWTS race. So, I flew out to Chicago this morning, be back in Portland Friday the 8th. I am going to see if I can find some short track action here over the next couple of weekends.
The Midget just keeps getting better, I'm looking forward to getting home and get a couple of projects finished for the OSSM show the first Saturday of November.

Dang....I was all geared up to hear how it went on the other coast...especially with the modifieds. But...now you're in Chi-town? Man...they've got great blues there. Should have some good racing there too. Looking forward to your return and seeing what you build for the OSSM show. The Midget should be finished for that. I might get the 49 Mrec finished too... I wouldn't hold my breath though...LOL

Glad he called when he did as I had planned to purchase them the following morning. As for the OSSM show I need to get the Shadowbox Coupe finished, if I get my butt in gear once I get home it will be done. Here is the link to an album of 3 other projects that I want to get started, maybe if I'm lucky they will be done for the Roadster Show. public.fotki.com/dcfletcher/model-cars/down-the-road-projects/up-coming-builds/

The grill isn't though. What is the primer'd car? It sure looks cool. The Shadow Box build is really awesome. I'd love to see you get that puppy finished.
Everytime I open this thread I smile a little bigger. Now you got a trailer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man O Man it never ends. LOL....I hear ya Buck...The Trailer was part of the build from the start. I'm also going to build a NISSAN 4WD Dually pickup to pull it. I had to modify the trailer a little. I'll post more pics of it as I build it for the car. Thank you for the compliments.

Gary, the pickup is a '38/'39 Ford with '40 rear fenders mounted up front, it changes the entire look of the pickup. The grille is in the new issue of the '37 Ford from Revell. The additional body lines are doable with Evergreen, the fenders from the Monogram '40 Pickup can be scaled down to 1/25th and usable for the build. It's one that is certainly on my build list. The primmered Coupe is a '41 Ford that has been chopped, the thing I like about the chop is that they avoided the porthole side quarter windows that seems to be the norm for '41-'48 chopped Coupes. The Coupe is buildable using the AMT '41 Woody and one of the Testors/IMC/Globe '48 Coupes. The toughest part will be removing the front fenders from each of the kits to transplant on the other. Back to to the studies.
