It was a bear getting those wire wheels to tuck under the fenders.

Lots of work needed on that hood and side panels.

That's looking good John. I really like the stance on it...

I was going after a certain look. In other words I wasn't going after a detailed suspension with springs, shocks and so on. With that said this is how I achieved that.

I wanted to use the kit tires. I like 'em and upon checking ride height I had to use these. One problem what do you use to keep these tires glued together. I tried all kinds of glue. I emailed a friend of mine, thanks Brian, he emailed back with the possibility of two types of glue. I tried this one and so far it's working.

I wanted to get the ride height as low as possible. Again I was just going after a look. I added plastic, as shown, to the rear of the frame just before the spring arch basically creating a z'd frame. Then cut the spring arch off and moved it up. I think it was about a 3 inch drop. I also cut off the spring from the axle tubes. Doing this tucked those rear tires up under the fender wells as planned.

On to the front.....I needed to get the 34 pickup wire wheels to fit under the fender wells. I had to drill out a portion of the wire wheel to get the fit I was looking for (see photo).

I had to get the wire wheel to fit over the 29 Ford I-beam. Drilling out the back of the wire wheel was one way to achieve this.

Previous post showed the front I-beam spring cut off, again I was going after a certain look. I think the look was achieved. I have to start working on the front hood and side panels. I'll post pics as time allows....thanks for looking.

I started on the hood yesterday evening. I wanted to show the product I use. I cut the filler strip of plastic too short as you can see. While surfing the internet some else uses this product, I think it is Steve Boutte, so I thought why not give it a try. I've been using it ever since. I find this stuff very easy to work with.... More pics to come as time allows....thanks for looking.

Man John....that front end sure looks good. Are you using that Super glue as a filler? How long after you apply it can you work with it? Good stuff...thanks for sharing..

Gary....I don't really know. Package claims 'Item can be handled in about 2 hours. Fully cured in 24 hours.' I'll usually mix it, apply it, then it seems like less then an hour till I start working with it. You'll definitely know when you can start working with it. When it sets it feels like little army men plastic. Really cool stuff. I do use it as a filler.
